FAQ
1. Why is the initial 55 fixed?
55 is the basic product number for SPEC 55. This page decodes the catalog's 55A / 55LF General Purpose system.
2. What do A, AC, AF, D, LF, LFC and M mean?
A is general purpose; AC adds 90% minimum shield coverage; AF is low fluoride; D refers to Defense Standard 61-12 Part 33; LF is ultra-low fluoride; LFC combines ultra-low fluoride with 90% minimum shield coverage; M is the 450 V family.
3. How do I read the color codes 2/6 - 9?
2/6 identifies red and blue component wires; the final 9 identifies a white jacket. The catalog uses MIL-STD-681 color codes: 0 black, 1 brown, 2 red, 3 orange, 4 yellow, 5 green, 6 blue, 7 violet, 8 gray and 9 white. Multi-digit wire color codes, such as 96, denote a base color followed by stripe colors.
